Confluence Kayak Tour
Saturday, July 18 9am-12pm
Tryon Cove Park, 14110 Stampher Road, Lake Oswego, OR
Join the Tryon Creek Watershed Council (TCWC) and Johnson Creek Watershed Council (JCWC) for a kayak tour of these two urban stream confluences with the Willamette River. We will launch from Tryon Cove Park at 9am and paddle north to the mouth of Johnson Creek. We will paddle back to Tryon Creek to complete a loop back to our launching point. The paddle will be 2-3 miles round trip. Restoration professionals and city officials will discuss the importance of these watersheds to the Portland metro area. Staff members from TCWC and JCWC will lead the tour and discuss current restoration projects in both of their respective watersheds.
This event is free. Participants should bring their own kayak/canoe and life jacket if they own them. Otherwise, participants can rent a kayak through us for $35 from our partner Alder Creek Kayak. A limited number of kayaks will be available on a scholarship basis thanks to the generosity of Alder Creek Kayak – inquire if the $35 cost is a hardship. Bring water and snacks.
